We were introduced to Jackie Pullinger through the video of Leonard Ravenhill. Jackie took a slow boat to the far east after she left the Royal School of Music. We found her testimony and teaching at SermonIndex and listen over and over and over, for clues to God's work through her passionate work in the Walled City in Hong Kong.
Jackie's work was for me a ministry of pure love. Much like Norman Grubb had said in the Congo, like he pleaded with God to be able to love the Africans.
St. Stephen's provides the rehabilitaion of displaced persons such as victims of accidents, street sleepers, ex-prisoners, and those with problems of adjusting to society, many of whom have been drug abusers. Founded by Jackie Pullinger, e are eager to help those in need. Find out more about our program.
Listen to both parts of the message below - God Uses Foolish Things (Note: The first 75 seconds of track # 1 is a man speaking Chinese, so please be patient)...
Jackie sharing says "but they can hear deep and profound things... We always do the parable of the man who found the treasure in the field and sold everything, and we do this twice a year, and I only let those who have nown Christ less than four weeks answer. And I ask them "Who is the one who sold everything he had and who is the treaure?". Now okay they're all on drugs. 100% of the time they will answer this way "Jesus sold everything He had and we are the treasure", which of course is theologically correct, in case you thought you could buy Christ. But you've never heard it that way around, have you?, because a man taught it to you. They hear from the Spirit of God, and they know that He bought us, they know that." (Track # 1, 27:45 - 28:52) amazing....
